I Woke Up Like This: Natural Glow Makeup

We have all seen the celebrity and Instagram model posts #Iwokeuplikethis. We all know, that in reality these women have microbladed brows, permanent lashes, and lip fillers, yet we all still admire the beautiful natural glow in the pictures. I found a few products that I feel will recreate an effortless, glowing natural makeup look.

1. Maybelline Dream Urban Cover Flawless Coverage Foundation

This foundation is considered a dupe for the IT Cosmetics CC cream as it wears similar on the skin and has an SPF of 50 which is fantastic for wearing every day. This product gives a light natural finish on the skin and can be built up to cover any problem areas. The key to a natural base that looks effortless is we want to see the skin beneath yet still cancel out any uneven skin tone. I use this by applying small amounts with a dry sponge and blend for a long time, really let the foundation melt into your skin and become totally blended. Pat a small amount of this under the eyes as well instead of a heavy concealer, this will look more natural yet still help make you look more well-rested.

2. Benefit Posietint Lip and Cheek Stain

A stain is perfect for a natural-looking flush. We need something matte but without the look of powder on the skin. This one from benefit is so beautiful as a soft pinky hue for lighter skin tones. (For deeper skin tones I recommend the original Benetint as it is deeper and has more pigment!) Just put a few dots directly on the apples of the cheeks and pat out. This is also beautiful as a slight flush on the lips.

3. Maybelline Great Lash Clear Lash Mascara

Shop Now: Amazon

This is where I really want to go natural, If you want to apply falsies or have a more dramatic lash that is totally fine! I, however, feel that having a coat of Mascara is not as natural a look as when lashes are bare. Instead, we can first curl your lashes twice on both sides, then swipe a really thorough coat of this clear mascara to lock in the curl and make lashes a bit darker. I think you will be surprised at just how great this looks and how well it brightens the eyes.

4. Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel

Shop Now: Ulta

If you have naturally dark, full, fluffy brows, just use the same clear mascara as before and clean them up a bit, but if you have much lighter brows or sparse brows ( I have both, yay me) you may need some extra help. This gel is tinted and adds just a slight amount of color to the brows while still looking very natural and light.

5. Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Shop Now: Amazon

One thing I see a lot of in these natural looks is an actual ton of highlighter, and I really love highlighter but who wakes up with that on their face? Instead, I saw this trick that Zendaya did in a great ready and I am obsessed with this look. Take Vaseline or this Aquaphor Ointment and tap a teeny tiny dot right up on the tops of your cheekbones and brow bone. The sheen it gives to the skin is natural, glowy, and beautiful!! Also, add a bit to the lips to keep them plump and smooth.

There you have it! Try out this gorgeous natural look and tell me what you think. Sometimes less really is more and you can let your gorgeous natural beauty shine while still having fun with makeup.
